“I Still Hear Your Voice in Every Chord…” Keith Urban Whispered — Then He Did Something No One Expected on Live TV
The Morning That Froze Times Square: Keith Urban’s Surprise Tribute Left Even Miranda Lambert Speechless
Just hours before the CMAs, under the bright lights of Good Morning America, Keith Urban walked on stage with nothing but his guitar, a trembling hand… and a secret he hadn’t told anyone.
What followed was not just a performance — it was a raw, unexpected tribute that turned Times Square silent. Even Miranda Lambert, waiting backstage, was seen wiping away a tear.
👉 This wasn’t just a warm-up act. It was a farewell. Or maybe… a beginning?

Live from Nashville this morning, Keith Urban performed for fans as a pre-CMA Awards kick-off performance on Good Morning America. In addition to taking the stage in the pouring rain this morning, Urban will be performing at the 2014 Country Music Association Awards tonight with Miranda Lambert. In fact, two of the awards from tonight’s events were also announced this morning on GMA and one of the awards went to Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert. The award winners were for Musical Event Of the Year, which was Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert’s “We Were Us.” And, the winner of Best Music Video of the Year was “Drunk On a Plane” by Dierks Bentley.
Miranda Lambert appeared on GMA as well to make an announcement and sign some autographs. Lambert’s announcement is that she’s officially the first woman to ever become a spokesperson for a truck brand.
Urban is up for 3 other awards later tonight and this morning, he kicked off his mini-concert with his classic hit “Stupid Boy.” He then played “Good Thing.”
