A new source speaks out.

aty Perry and Orlando Bloom are in the middle of a a very public split—even though the stars have yet to confirm the news. And, as with any celebrity breakup, there’s been plenty of speculation as to what might have caused the couple to call it quits. And a new report claims that Katy and Orlando have been struggling with the same problem “for years”: their busy schedules.

“Katy and Orlando have been suffering through the same problems that have plagued them for years,” a source told People. “[They had] too much going on in their lives, which makes it hard to find time for each other and iron out disagreements. When they don’t communicate properly, their relationship dips to a low level.”

The source also claimed that the couple had “been living on an island of stress” leading up to the split, which was confirmed by Us Weekly on June 26. “Sometimes love isn’t enough to keep two people with different styles and outlooks on how things are done [together],” a different source told the magazine. “It can overshadow the love.”

As for how they are doing since news of the breakup became public, they’ve been on opposite sides of the globe this week. Orlando was spotted having a grand old time at Jeff Bezos’ wedding in Venice last weekend, partying among fellow celebs Sydney Sweeney and Tom Brady.

Meanwhile, Katy is busy on her Lifetimes World Tour. On Monday, she was recorded getting emotional on stage during the last show of her tour’s Adelaide, Australia, stop. Katy appeared teary eyed in a video uploaded to X, as she held up her hands in a heart. “Thank you for always being there for me, Australia. It means the world,” she said before launching into “Firework.”

Joining Katy in Australia is her daughter, Daisy, 4, whom she shares with Orlando. “At a certain point, they had to admit it’s better for Daisy to see their parents separately, then she won’t grow up feeling the tension and animosity,” yet another source told People. The unnamed source continued, adding, “They want to keep a friendly relationship so each can be around her separately or together.”
