Breaking down in tears over her “insane” time on the show, Carrie admitted she was “emotional” as she choked back tears.
“I think my journey on American Idol all the time, because it’s so grand, it’s so unbelievable,” Carrie said in the clip.
She added: “To go from somebody who was going to school, trying to figure out what she wanted to do with the rest of her life,” before saying how it was on a “whim” to appear on the show.
Carrie then reiterated how her time on the show was “insane”.
“If I hadn’t made that one decision in my life, my life would be completely different.
“So it’s just a blessed journey I’ve been on,” she concluded.
Sharing the video on their Instagram page, the American Idol account wrote: “What a blessed journey for #carrieunderwood, and it started with one #americanidol audition!”
A BLESSED JOURNEY
Reacting to the tearful clip, one person said: “Couldn’t have happened to a sweeter more gentle soul! I’m so happy for her.”
Another added: “A blessed journey but also a strong work ethic combined with talent and dedication!”
While a third penned: “Carrie Underwood is so humble and BEAUTIFUL! A GREAT EXAMPLE TO ALL.”
And a fourth said: “I really didn’t care for her as a judge. She’s better as a contestant or a visitor to the show.
“She was a little bit boring. Sorry, but I still love her.”
AMERICAN IDOL FUTURE UNCLEAR
Carrie is said to have the ball in her court in regards to a possible return to the singing show next season.
“After all the bumps this season, and the beginning was bumpy, the people that matter in the decision making, the powers that be, really love Carrie,” a source exclusively told The U.S. Sun.
Carrie Underwood’s Family
The American Idol winner had relationships with Chace Crawford and Tony Romo but she ultimately walked down the aisle with Mike Fisher.
Mike is a Canadian retired hockey player from Peterborough, Ontario.
In October 1999, Fisher made his NHL debut with the Ottawa Senators.
He played for the Senators until he was traded to the Nashville Predators.
One of the reasons he agreed to the trade was so he could be close to his wife Carrie.
On December 20, 2009, Carrie and her former hockey captain hubby announced their engagement.
On July 10, 2010, Carrie Underwood and Mike tied the knot after almost two years of dating.
More than 250 people were in attendance at their wedding ceremony at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge in Greensboro, Georgia.
Carrie’s engagement ring from Mike features a yellow diamond and was valued at $150K.
In February 2015, the couple welcomed their first child; a son named Isaiah.
In January 2019, the singer and the pro athlete expanded their family further with the birth of their second son Jacob.
“They feel a certain protectiveness toward her.
“They’ve defended any setbacks and criticism she’s endured this season and would gladly have her back.
“The ball is more in Carrie’s court.
“She’s on the fence about coming back, there were times this season I think she would’ve absolutely said ‘no’ to returning.
“But as she’s found her place within the role it’s grown on her more but it wouldn’t surprise anyone on set if she doesn’t return.”
