The top two singers on “American Idol” 2025 — winner Jamal Roberts and runner-up John Foster — continue to draw a crowd nearly a month after the season 23 finale.
During a Facebook Live session on June 13, 2025, fresh off his performance with Kirk Franklin at the BET Awards, Roberts revealed, “I’m booked up until 2027. It happened that fast.”
In recent days, both singers have also sold out concerts, with more shows to come, proving that fans’ excitement for them has not waned since the finale.
Jamal Roberts is in Awe Over How Much His Life Has Changed Since ‘American Idol’
Roberts has a slew of shows confirmed in the coming weeks, including a concert at Nashville’s City Winery on August 15, which sold out in less than 24 hours, according to his manager Carlton Cofield.
Roberts spent June 14 in Atmore, Alabama, with his two oldest daughters — Harmoni, 7, and Lyrik, 4 — headlining the Bee More Summer Festival. The mayor surprised the R&B singer with a key to the city.
Roberts will soon head back to Los Angeles, he told fans during his June 13 Facebook Live session, to work on new music and future plans with his ever-expanding team.
He marveled in a social media post on the same day about how much his life has changed over the last year, writing, “Nothing sitting here thinking about how my life was just a year ago and how fast God can change your situation if you trust Him. Whatever it is holding you back from getting to your full potential…HEAL FROM IT 🙏🏾💪🏾🥺✍🏿”
‘American Idol’ Runner-Up John Foster Adds 2 New Shows at Grand Ole Opry
Classic country crooner Foster made his Grand Ole Opry debut on June 7, performing two songs — “How Great Thou Art” and “Murder on Music Row.” The Louisiana native told the audience from the prestigious circle on Nashville’s most famous stage, “Country music is the best thing to have ever happened to this world.”
A week later, on June 14, he announced via Instagram that he’s been invited back for two more shows, including one on his birthday and another with Opry member Jamey Johnson.
“Playing the @opry was one of the biggest honors of my life,” Foster wrote. “Now, I have the pleasure of celebrating my 19th birthday there on July 9th! On top of that, I get to share the Opry stage with one of my favorite musicians, @jameyjohnsonofficial, on August 21st! If I don’t say it enough, thank you, thank you, thank you for putting me here! ❤️”
On June 13, the day before Foster’s Opry announcement, The Advocate reported that Foster’s upcoming hometown concert in Baton Rouge, Louisiana — scheduled for August 2 at the 1,350-seat venue The Texas Club — had sold out in less than an hour. A second show has been added on August 1.
